Our welcoming environment was designed to incorporate the most modern concepts in obstetric and neonatal care, offering state-of-the-art technological resources.

* Accommodations

We have 22 maternity ward rooms that are comfortable and spacious and which allow us to offer individualized and private care. The infant care is mostly offered in the maternity ward room, guaranteeing greater interaction with the parents and helping them learn even more about how to care for their newborn.

* Nursery

Our hospital nursery is structured to receive the newborns and help them adapt to the new environment. We offer individualized assistance focused on the safety and well-being of the newborn. The following are some of the safety methods we adopt for our babies: use of the identification bracelet; transport of the babies in the mobile crib, from the moment they are born to the moment they leave the hospital; and discharge that is always accompanied by the nursery professional.

* Delivery Rooms

Our delivery rooms are fully equipped for natural childbirth, c-sections and multiple births. Casa de Saúde São José emphasizes natural birth, and for this purpose, it offers environments that we call the “pre-delivery rooms,” where the medical team can safely monitor fetal well-being.

Pregnant women are entitled to have anyone they want with them during the birth. If they want to have a midwife with them, this individual must a professional who is duly registered with our institution.

* Neonatal ICU

The Neonatal ICU has one of the most well-prepared medical teams for the treatment of premature infants in all of Rio de Janeiro. For us, high quality neonatal care is essential, since it can guarantee both the survival and quality of life of newborns. Besides the necessary equipment, the unit has a multi-professional team specialized in caring for high-risk infants, consisting of neonatologists, nurses, nursing technicians, speech therapists, nutritionists and physical therapists.

* Adult Intensive Care Unit

One of the most modern ICUs in the city of Rio de Janeiro is available and well-prepared to assist high risk pregnancies that seek out our hospital. Even if they require intensive care, our patients are monitored at this unit by a group the encourages breastfeeding, with aims of preserving this type of care during such a special time.

* Image Services

Our pregnant patients and newborns have access to an efficient radiology service. We have modern x-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance devices.
